As I go, I am learning things on my body tub restoration. I have been adding the bolt ons. Handles Spare Tire carrier etc. I have used very little body filler. I have no area that I would say is more than an eighth inch in thickness.
Here's the tip, Drilling holes generates heat. Body filler does not like this. It puckers right up!!
Now I am Pissed!!! More sanding and touching up.
Point being, in my opinion, all holes, welding, anything heat generating should be done prior to final glazing and priming.
Thoughts?

You are learning! I never drill outwards all the way through bondo. I drill just enough to see the point, reverse punch it and finish from the other side. A sharp new bit helps keep the heat down. Oil
