Sir Rudy's jeep runs like a watch! He had the "honor" of being Mike's "tail gunner" on yesterday's ride. Hawky, Cap'n Lee, Oily, Rick, Grumpy, Jpet, Bruce "the stuff" W, RudyCon in his Studi-Will-IS, Jeff C, and any other members here I forgot, it was a great time!
It was great see many friends for the first time, and see some familiar faces once again. There's lots of photos to post and such, once free wifi is found!

We made it home early afternoon today, 2500 and some change miles round trip!.......... A week of great fun, spent with great people.......... I did not get to spend enough time with the Sirs, seems the trail eats up the day and everyone is tired after the days ride and scatters to there place of lodging........ I have many photos to post and video, that will happen this week as time permits. Highlights of the week were Wednesday, that included Hancock Pass, Cumberland Pass, Alpine Tunnel, and Cottonwood Pass, 11 hours on the trail and some of the most beautiful country God created, the trail to Alpine Tunnel had me in awe, the Palsiades were beautiful and the aspen trees were golden on the mountains, breathtaking.......... I also did Chinaman Gulch on Thursday, not sure what to expect, this trail is a mean Bastage. We spent 7 hours on a trail 4 miles long..... My faithful Jeep performed spectacular and suffered no damage. I am amazed that a stock vehicle can travel that rough of ground, a rear locker would make it easier, but for a 67 year old vehicle to pass this by simply making a few rock ramps in key areas is amazing, and it passed with authority!. A true testament to the engineers at Willys 70 plus years ago!. This was a spectacular day spent with outstanding people, most of the FCT participants watched as we started up the trail, the first obstacle was a tough bitch and the second was worse, I am sure they thought we were nuts, I did, LOL..... Fred Coldwell followed me up this with his CJ2 Agra-Jeep, s/n 9, I very much admire this man!, he ownes one of the rarest Jeeps and uses it, and takes it on a trail with a 4-7 difficulty rating. I am sure the Jeep police of the world are crying tears over this, LOL. The Agra-Jeep spent the week on the trails and not collecting dust in a garage where no one ever sees it, my hat is off to Fred, Outstanding!!!!!.

Who has 2 thumbs and had the MOST fun? *points to himself with both thumbs* THIS GUY! Thank you to Mike and Nancy for another amazing trip to Colorado's high country.
The team support from the Knights and all the other participants made everything so easy. I am simply astounded that every jeep comes home under it's own power every day! Sure, some might limp a little, but they all get home under steam. The Toyota cruise Moab event sometimes leaves 'em for dead on the trail or drags them home on the hook. So much experience with this bunch.
One of the many hi-lights for me was receiving an early Christmas gift from Tiny. He had to go to the st.elmo ghost town to find it, but he found the LAST Studebaker printed patch in the world! *laughs*
Special thanks to oil leaker for leaning over my engine. All he had to do was listen to it and the knock was gone. Must have whispered some spicy "Sweet Nothings" to that engine to get it to run so nicely for me.
Fuel pump #3 didn't require any trail-side repairs the entire trip. Maybe I finally got one that works.
Pictures soon.

Just speaking for myself.....All of our pics are on a camera and my wife's phone. Hopefully, I get them posted when we get home Wednesday or Thursday...... Yesterday was a pretty day in Salida, I pushed my daughter on a swing for the first time, and today we took the Mollie Katheen gold mine tour and ate lunch in Cripple Creek!

Y'all really know how to kick a guy when he's down. IN THE LOWCOUNTRY! Fantastic photos, especially the circled wagons at the lake. It makes a guy like me wish he was a real jeeper. One question, though - what was the joke in the video? I can only hear something like "wooooooo" and "weeeeeeee" but nothing that starts with G. /LOL
