Today I had the rare honor of meeting yet another "Flying Tiger" of the 14th Army Air Force, 23rd Fighter Squadron, Lt. Stanley Cohen. I spoke to him of Norman Pedigo and he said he thinks he actually may know him. Who'd of thought I would me two "Flying Tigers" in my life. Especially in just three months. Lt. Stanley Cohen. Short Round and the B-25 he sponsored for the fly over at the Virginia Tech game today. I had to get in a couple pics too.

. The B25 is my favorite aircraft. Here's a foto of the "OD MULE" and "MAID IN THE SHADE" taken last year.

Sir Eric, I hope you're as excited about this as I am. I think I sent you the maillist for Daniel Ford's warbirds forum, but I just read the most recent. There is going to be an AVG reunion in Atlanta (Peachtree airport) this coming September 21-25. There is talk of transforming the airport into a 1940's themed airfield, and promise "the largest P-40 Warhawk gathering in recent history" to be there as well. Oddly, and this is why I posted this HERE ... in the email there are only three AVG pilots listed, and neither of the two men you met are listed!!! I'm thinking if you could get in contact with Norm Pedigo and Stan Cohen to make sure they know about it, we might be able to plan to get a few jeeps there. I'd encourage you to contact Mr. Ford and let him know that you've met these two, and possibly put him in touch with them so he can get their story weaved into his existing works about the AVG as well as featuring them on his online forum. Would you mind if I reply to him, and send him your email address so he can contact yoU? I think I have your email, anyway .. you may want to confirm for me.
//Sorry nothing to do with Jeeps. We're all safer that way. LOL

Sure thing, Jeff give him my info. Also Norman Pegigo was actually a navigator for the B-24s in the same unit as Lt. Cohen. Age does things to the memory. Norman served he was with the Flying Tigers and he also rode on the convoys thru the mountains "The Burma Highway". Rough job.
