In order to property prepare and paint the toolbox and lid, I needed to remove the hinge pins. The pins were completely frozen and rusted solid. Here's how I did it. You will need a torch.(I used my acetylene plumbers tourch) Some parafin wax, or a candle, A 3/32 long nosed punch, A ball pein hammer, and perhaps a dremel tool with a thin metal cutting disc. I first used a dremel tool to cut the pins on the joints of the hinges. These pins are often bent as well, and shorter pins will be easier to drive out. Heat the hinge. I did not heat it red hot. Be careful not to use to much heat to prevent warping. Insert the parafin wax on each end. This will act as a lube. Use the punch to drive out the pin. I used the same process on the lid.

I decide to use my flexible drill extension and ream the holes in the hinges just to clean them up. I used an 1/8 inch drill bit.
