I have always wanted to rebuild a WO carb with my own two hands. Scout has agreed to tutor me through the process. I will not be posting it here, but on his website. For posterity!

With the Scouts tutelage, by the time you'll get done, there will be so much torque, you'll have to put wheelie bars on just keep it on the ground

NICE. I bought one of those WO rebuild kits from RFJP so I will definitely check that out Scott!

HG - I too have always wanted to rebuild a carb and have never done it. I'm looking forward to watching the progress on Scout's site. With that said, why the hell are you diving into "spare parts" projects when you have several "primary parts" left to complete on your 2A (eg: the TUB)? Stop stalling already. Finish that damn thing!

It's actually fun if you like tearing things apart and putting them back together.

And Sir Ryan dives off the top rope with the atomic elbow, and piles. Ole Haines!!! Then Gary throws his drink in the ring!!! Absolute Mayhem Folks!!! I just can't help myself! Besides when Scout is blasting and coating my body parts, I can get back to the tub. I know I know........

There is only one rule for my school. RTDB! When that rule is broken the punishment is RTFB! Failure to follow instructions results in failure of the carb to function.

Anyone out there have a "decent, drive-quality" carb to sell? I don't want to take mine out, but I ran across that WO carb rebuild kit and now I am Ubercurios as to whether I can manage it ... !

The true challenge is to take a 70 year-old carburetor that doesn't work, and make it work.

Scout, agreed. However, for us "measure thrice, cut once and STILL throw it away" types, that's too much pressure to bear! As to that poor ration box I've tried to recreate, the trees still scream out in their dreams ...

I think that just a bit of encouragement, some time to gather the proper tools, obtain a quality kit and just a bit of reading you, with a slow, deliberate hand, yes, you could do it.

Scout...should I let him have a go on the one I sent you pictures of? I could let him clean her up, swap stuff out AND THEN send it on to you! lol

The infamous WO Carb, It is a bit intimidating to say the least. In a conversation I had with Scout on the phone, I told him I would rather build axles, transmissions, transfer cases and Engines ALL DAY LONG! There is a stigma that goes along with a rebuild. One of the most impressive things to me about Rick (ScoutPilot) is that he is in the rebuilding Old Jeep Carbs business, and Is willing to share his knowledge and expertise. Think about what I am saying.

Indeed . But he should at least try. There is no shame in attempt . I heard a quote from long ago... "You didn't even TRY....how does that feel?"

You had to make a sideways Yoda reference.
