This bastage (the bottom one) is the part which I seek. I'd be happy to know the name or especially the part number for the Fawking thing.
NOT the astrophysicist, who almost met his doom whilst crossing the street in Cambridge, England in 1989, with my buddy John at the wheel, the GEAR.
I posted something somewhat similar on "The G" ...

Even if you get the part number, I'm almost positive the only way you will find the part is to buy a junked out speedo and use it as a donor. I'm not sure speedometer parts would be in stock at the usual vendor stores. I guess a speedometer repair MIGHT sell you the part...
I've got a manual at home that might list the number. I check it out this afternoon.

To my credit (I know, that's shaky ground!) I did remember that I had the PDF of TM-1829A which identifies my missing device as "second gear", but no true manufacturer part number. I thought it would be easier to pretend to be a buffoon than admit too much on "The G". I guess looking for "second gear" is going to take me to the tranny section of most sites, and ever since that last discussion with HG Forum Member Bob I am WAY TOO SCARED to click "Enter" on those. LOL!
Additionally, it seems from more research (TMs and Beechwood reference) that it may just happen that MB/GPW-CJ3A are all interchangeable. Anyone out there got a junked out CJ2A or CJ3A speedo they don't want, have aversion to or just don't want to look at anymore on which I can perform exploratory surgery?

A quick search on eBay yielded some m38 speedos in the $20 range.

I needed a fiber gear for a English speedo. Called a speedometer shop, and got rheemed out over the phone. Somthing like: You want me to sell you a rare part so you don't have to pay me to fix it? ?? Moosey has the best idea-------buy one that still works with a crappy dial or busted glass. Oil

I have an M38 parts speedo I will gladly donate to you. It's an AC 1580260. If it has the right parts it's yours. It's already partially disassembled so I can dig into it a little deeper to confirm it has what you want. Let me know.

I have a Waltham Speedo that won't operate the odometers. All else is good. Bob's quoted $$$$$$$$$$ 300.00-500.00 dollars to fix the stripped gear.

.OUCH. I didn't pay that much for my trailer I am determined to figure out a solution for my issues. (Then I'll worry about the speedo gear!)
