Sorry Ryan, missed your question. I did the 2" stencil set. I got the bridge plate from this same guy. It was called the 'subdued bridge plate' because of its OD color. I looked to see if he was still listing them. They are gone from his bridge plate page.

Hmmmm. I believe a P.U.R.I.S.T. would insist on using the original NOS bridge plate. You're not P.U.R.E. You're not P.U.R.E. at all!!!

The stencil kit arrived today. My first impression is that this looks like pretty heavy duty good quality stuff. I'm curious how it compares to Hawk's set. We're looking at $50 versus $138.50. I plan to put these on over the weekend and will update as the process evolves.

The guy selling these was really nice too. I was PITA with annoying questions before and after the sale and he helped with all of them.

The one front bumper sticker is wrong. It should be 82AB 319F A8.
Rear bumerette driver side and the passenger side should be:
82AB A8 319F
A8 being Alpha Battery and 8 being the vehicle number in that Battery.

Dammit You're right Zooke. I sent him the pic of the of the M38 in the plane and said "make it like this one". It isn't. Mine read- Front Bumper: 82AB A8 319F Rear Bumperette: 82AB A8 Rear Bumperette: 319F 82 Tim now immediately feels better about spending $138.50

You can cut them and then stick them on. It will still work. Better than my cardboard stencils and brush dab method.

But in looking them all again I should be able to cut and splice them together correctly..I think?

Cut and splice. You'll be fine. I did this on my front bumper to avoid the holes drilled in the bumper.
The set looks just like mine. I looked at the site, but they don't show an M38. I'm guessing you worked from the M38 A1 set...which means you get more stars than I did. Double whammy on the the price. More stickers...better value.
Now my secret...my stickers cost me nothing. They were a Christmas gift from my Sister. Who's walking the walk now!!? Boo Yaa!
I reviewed their instructions. They are the same except one major difference... My directions said to peal the mask very soon after the last coat of paint so the mask would come off easy and not lift the paint edge.. Your directions state to let the paint cure fully before pulling the mask. Interesting. Makes me wonder if the mask material is slightly different.

I haven't a clue if that's true or not but I went with it. Or maybe they modified the A1 set slightly for my M38? I don't know. Either way, these numbers are really just for the novelty factor anyways. If I was shooting for a very accurate resto I flew off the tracks long before I got to this point.

They didn't have an M38 listed but even for an M38A1 they are still wrong.

The one front bumper sticker is wrong. It should be 82AB 319F A8. Zooke - The vintage pic of the parachuting M38 appears to read "82 A8 319F B2." I have a hard time telling a "B" from an "8" but either way it's different from your recommendation. Not try to be critical or nit pick just wanting learn. Edit, adding pic:

Ryan, The only thing that I could spot that would be different (M38 vs M38 A1) is the extra stars for the front fenders on the A1. And maybe a larger star for the hood. Personally, I wish my hood star was a little bigger. You got a killer deal. If I ever need more, I'll stop by your purchase place first.

That's B2. I couldn't read you stencils very well. Thought I saw an A instead of a B.

Now that I look at your stencils it is A8 and not B8. Just Alpha Battery number 8 jeep instead of Bravo Battery number 8 jeep.

Ryan's front bumper marked stencil is printed 82AB A8 319F
And the rear bumper stencil is marked
82AB A8
But the Jeep in the picture is B8 not what Ryan has on his stencils.
My eyes are good. But the font that I type and the one that shows up on my computer when posted are different.
