Had a widdle digging job to do and grabbed an old mattock that was among my Dads stuff when he passed away 25 years ago. I hadn't laid hands on it in about that time. Got done and cleaned it up and oiled it up to keep the rust down and, what-ho!, a US mark! M1910 pick/mattock, ca WWII! Not really Jeep related, but a neat find. Not a good pic of the US, but you get the idea. Need to get some linseed on the handle. It's dry as a bone. JB

Dodge M37's and Deuces from Korea up had a pioneer tool rack that your mattox fits right into. That is a common Forest Service fire fighting tool. They work great. Too bad fire is so darn hot. Takes all the fun out of it. When I worked a couple of summers with the Farce Circus we carried them. They were called Pulaskis. Cool item you have. Oil

...And not to mention the WWII Dodge WCs. That's a great little treasure!

I have that on my will find one day list. Wouldn't have any problem finding a home for one on my Jeep Willis.
