Pictures Please!Lee Pictures indeed, and you shall have them. My internet service went down this evening, so I am posting from my phone. Sir Turocy and I had lunch a while back. He noticed the jack I had in my truck still..I had just cleaned out my storage area. He told me to look it up on the 503..etc as he has stated. I ask you now to google a WC 1942-44 Dodge WC jack....see what you find! One sold on Ebay with no crank handle for $155.00. Research it for yourself if you don't believe me. What I have is an AS MFG Co marked jack with the collapsing crank handle. I will post the pics tomorrow. Now... 1) Don't you feel dumb 2) Look at you you.... 3) You aren't getting the WC jack from me..... I think I paid for lunch that time too. My Daughter told me...Dad, I don't think that guy really likes you... I'm starting to think she was right.

Dumb? Nope. You pay for lunch every time! Without really seeing both jacks side by side to compare height and width, the biggest difference I saw was the WC had a handle, a different styled top, and more of a flowered shape knob where the handle enters it. I was hoping you had the MZ Jack since it would have appeared to be the only one in the world! If you have a WC jack, I'll gladly trade for it or if you want the moolah, send her to eBay. And lastly, your daughter might be on to something!

Here is what I have.... From what i have researched it belongs with a Dodge WC. Marked on the bottom as pictured. It is missing the piece that goes on the top, that touches the vehicle. It cranks up and down.

Never say never, I know nothing of this type of jack, one could be made no doubt, A WC jack has got to be a very sought after Item, IMHO most that want or need one would be more than happy with what you have there, it's way better than nothing, and the missing parts could be fabricated until an oe piece is located. I would guarantee that jack would make you a popular person at an MVPA convention. Lee

Alright Lord Farquaad, I've obviously been doing my due diligence since I now, understandably, have a dog in this pony show. Also, as Haines somewhat gave the facts, I OVERWHELMINGLY convinced him NOT to scrap the jack; that somewhere there is a person in this world that would find value in his junk. Wait, don't thank me just yet for my gracious act of kindness. I am just a good Samaritan at heart. In the end, I may not have done Haines the favor of saving that jack from Chinese scrap. However, lets review my current discoveries...the pictorial evidence will speak for itself. I found a copy of the WWII Dodge tool kit. Remember, that this RAPD picture is over 70 years old and might be a bit grainy/blurry. At a first glance, I was overwhelmed with joy! The jack in the picture looks convincingly good and practically a dead ringer for the jack in Haines Garage. Since that image is SO small and not very clear, I took the liberty of enlarging it for better clarity: Again, its a 70+ year old grainy drawing. However, it now becomes quite obvious that the shape is completely different. Amazingly, though, it looks like the same type of bottle jack that can be found at just about any big box store. I guess perfected designs like that do not change over time. I might just run over to Wal Mart, pick one up, spray it down in rattle can OD and chuck in the WC. Bummer. I was really hoping Haines had the REAL DEAL. Oh well. Haines, if you want, I'll run that sucker over to the scrapyard for you. As a consolation, I'll even buy you Chinese for lunch. I'm sorry all of these other yahoos, especially those in MN, got you all excited. At least I, despite how much it hurt, gave you the truth. Yes, I'm a true friend, indeed.

Haines, NEVER, Never trust a patina pisser , That has got to be the poorest photoshop job yet to date , Very little gets by the eagle eye here, and that was also spotted by my granddaughter as well ( A WiLL-IS girl by the way!). So do not stand for the Bo smoke blowing scheme or rainbow pumping he is dishing out here. Complete Bull$h!t Lee And also Bo, do you think Haines would throw out a classic jack,,,,, I think not!!!

Haines, ,,,,,,, ,,, you did not mention before that it "WORKS", That makes the value go north even more! ......... And not rust, it's 70 years of use and that makes "Patina" Outstanding find, E-Bay it ASAP. Lee

You can polish a turd until it shines, but in the end, it is still just a turd. I wish Lee wouldn't poo poo the technical manuals. That's the army's official publication on the matter. I pulled that scan directly out of my original manual. Haines, why do I get the feeling that you've got an evil devil whispering sweet nothings into your hear, while I, your benevolent angel, sits pissed off and yelling to you the truth!
Oh, by the way, nice jack. It's definitely not the one in the RAPD picture...and it's broken. eBay it for scrap prices. Let eBay and Paypal screw you over. I guess a man has to have a dream.

Sir Turocy...or I think I will change your title to Sir Blows Smoke Alot.....
Like Captain Leemeister said, It works... Price just went up! Now if I can get Sir Schimmster to make me a head.. I can fudge the patina, by letting it sit out in the salt rain. Then we shall see....
I hold all the cards here pal!

OK...here we go... I have SO MANY ISSUES with what you are doing here. Where shall I begin? How about right here! Pay attention. I'm only going to say this once. 1. JUST BECAUSE YOU CAN GET IT UP (without any lube) doesn't mean it works! You are cranking your unit without any load. Its pregame warmups. Heck, you are just going solo here. 2. IT IS BROKEN, Cornhole. You CANNOT expect anywhere near a premium price on ANY item if it is broken. Those jacks are a dime a dozen. A quick internet search (if you know where to look) will display 5 of these (unknown) jacks for sale. Supply and demand, pal. 3. Oh, the handle. "It has the original handle! That makes the price go up." Yup. It's original alright. But original to what??! You do not offer up any sort of markings that lend a clue to what the handle is. Makers marks? Serial numbers? Nothing. Sure, you can cram it up in a hole and spin it around, but then claim its 70 years old and that's why it doesn't work very well. Yep. That's what she said. To me, it looks more like an early '80s M1009 CUCV jack handle. You should write eBay advertisements. AND FINALLY, #4WHERE THE HECK IS YOUR HISTORICAL EVIDENCE???!!! (Geez, no wonder hillbillis ((by the way, somebody should tell that guy how to spell and pronounce his name)) always writes in all caps. One has to constantly yell at you because your thick skull is soundproof.) I have backed my claims up with an historical photo out of an historical publication. You just write words and post fancy smancy videos that are more like Stripes "Razzle Dazzle" on the parade grounds. Flash and Awe. Shock and Bang. Stand and Deliver. That is more like a carnival approach that pick pockets the innocent bystander. Again...I have done my due diligence...I DO NOT KNOW WHAT YOUR JACK IS, NOR DO I KNOW TO WHAT VEHICLE IT BELONGS TO, but I am certain it is not for a WC. This time I have found a wartime video. It is dated April 14, 1945 and the location is a maintenance yard in England. There are several trucks being worked on by army mechanics. Because I am too cheap to purchase the video, I did a "screen shot" of the still that shows a Dodge truck, with its tool kit, having maintenance performed. The SAME style of jack that I posted yesterday can be seen on the dismounted tire. Have a gander...pa-lease! I know...its black and white; difficult to see. Here is a slightly better close up. You be the judge. Historical evidence. Documented proof. Don't believe me? Watch the video yourself. Go to criticalpast.com. Search "GI jacking off tire". Boom. Crotch bomb. Edit: the picture with the jack in it is the darker frame in the middle, slightly right of center.

OK, so I have spent the last hour playing with the second photo in the post above. (that way you do not need to worry about increasing the screen image size of your screen...which I think might be as simple as pressing the keyboard with the windows icon and pressing + at the same time for windows users) I have been playing a bit with the color and such...trying to brighten it up some, as well as making it larger to see. Holy cow, does that jack look IDENTICAL to the one in the TM!!!!! Lee, note the handle. It is nothing like that CUCV handle Haines is all uber excited over. Again, Haines: documented historical evidence is not the same as your selfie pictures, your youtube vids, or pirating somebody else's picture off of google. Who knows where they got it. I would pretty much consider this thread done. Lock it, beach.

Wellwellwellseems our resident photoshopmaster with the new Indian name (feathers not dots), is back to his old ways, I have in my hands an Army Vehicle Parts guide, published by Portrayal Press, This fine book has a section just on Vehicle Jacks and what goes with what!, seems our resident smoke pumper is Dodging the facts, The WC jack in the book is "EXACTLY" like the Haines garage model , and the handle as well is "EXACTLY" like the HG handle. As far as your WC photo with the tool kit out, A Scoutcar uses a Hyd. jack and maybe that tool kit is from the scoutcar, or is another example of your photoshop skills . At any rate, HG has the real deal . And by the way to all, this is a Jeep Jack thread, not a WC jack thread Lee

It Pertains Captain... Don't you just love the irony of it all. He wouldn't part with a Jeep Jack when he has a least four. I begged and pleaded. Look back you can see it all! Even when Bo said...Please don't tell me it was a WC Jack! HAHAHAHAHAHA

Lee...reproduction books? That is what you use? Originals, baby. That's the only way you can trust that the evidence hasn't been tampered with. Haines...because it's your birthday (Happy Birthday! ) I will make you quite the generous offer on your unknown jack and handle: $25 + a cut up '44 MB frame and tub. (that way you can have your authentic WWII jeep!) Come and get it. or...you can pay me $50 and I'll give you one of my jacks. That is probably an even trade.

No Sir, the Portrayal Press people are top notch, the Most trusted in reprint manuals . Now, your oe photo of the jack from the tool kit, were you personally present as the kit was removed from the WC for the photo , NO you were not , so there is no proof in that photo then either. Notice I am being very nice today. Have a good evening SIR. Lee
