My enclosed 14 foot H&H trailer is like a garage or shed on wheels. It keeps all the rain, sand, road snarf off your toy. It's also like pulling a sailboat with the sail up. Fuel economy is destroyed by it. A standard 1/2 ton pickup is not up to the task of towing it. Empty it weighs 2700 pounds. Put a 2100 pound Jeep or small sports car in it and you are messing with 4000 + pounds which out weighs my Chevy 1/2 ton. It has brakes on both axles and will stop in a hurry if needed. My Dodge diesel jerks it around pretty good. Loaded, I'm only getting 11 MPG. With a 3000 lb camper on the back, and a 18 foot car trailer and Jeep, I get 12 to 14. Now you get the enclosed trailer picture. The recent blowout I had that ripped off the aluminum tandem trailer fender, was interesting in the fact no other damage happened to the trailer. I believe if it had been steel and screwed more securely, I would have had skin damage to the side of the trailer. Sort of like break away technology. I'm always learning things as I go-----------the hard way. You have to earn knowledge. Knowledge is expensive. So, I just saved you some cash! Don't run older tires that have been in the sun for 10 years but look good. OK? Oilly
