Just a heads up for anyone planning holidays for next summer! Ever plan a trip to Canada? British Columbia is about as good as it gets! The world famous Calgary Stampede runs from July 8-17 next summer, so the wife and I decided to plan a week of trail rides and good company from July 17th to the 24th. That way, you could take in the famous windup of the Stampede and then come over the big hill to our place. We will be running it along the same lines as the BHR and FCT! As usual its all about the fun of new trails and the company of good friends. We are planning a pot-luck for either Friday or Saturday after the ride, and the rest of the time you are on your own! There are two cafes near here, and one of the stores makes one helluva pizza! The weather around here in July is normally quite warm and dry with little or no wind. There is camping at our place, and some B&Bs in the area, plus a motel in Lumby which is 11 miles from here. If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask! Chuck

You might post your address so they can Google earth the location. A passport is needed also. I don't think the border guards would like me driving in with machine gun mounted now would they? I'll be there with camper and Jeep Sir Chuckie. No horses or rodeo for me. Got any Canadian made HBR's? Heck I'm ready right now. Oilly

Wow! From my humble abode in the Lone Star State to Binthere Estates, 35 hours, 2230 miles! That's only about 1/2 way across Texas. Gary just park your Willys( that's prounced WILLIES) on the trailer put your Silveraydo in drive mash your motor, you'll be there in no time. I think I'll even let the wife ride along for this trip, so we'll see you there?

Chuck, I'm trying to actually see your place. V0E 2G0 is Lumby the town. I can see Hwy 6. I know you are 11 miles east on Hwy. 6. Try typing in your address on Google earth. It can't recognize your address for some reason. Park your Jeep out by the road so I can locate your driveway!

Google maps can be a PIA sometimes. I have better luck with the map on the iPhone.

Location found. So, It's looking like mostly Northern boys are thinking about it. Lee just has to jump the fence from his place and come over. I think it will be a adventure for me. Best of all, you get to see Canada from a Jeep. Oil

Just a couple pictures I took the other day while out with my friend looking for trails for next summer. One is of my jeep, and the other is a view down the valley looking east. My place is on the right on the bend in the highway, in the trees after the field.

So--- I've been caught! That's one of the tricks, the other is the logging roads. Now I'm all fessed up!! We had the top off at your 14 rally, you must have pictures. Look back at the 14 BHR on the 2A page!

Tis is a picture taken from a hill east of Vernon looking east to the Monashee mountains. Lavington is the village in the foreground, and Lumby is around the base of the bare hill on the left. The mountain on the right is called the camel's hump, and is our answer to the Devil's tower in Wyoming!! We live in the valley bottom below the clearcut in the background. Chuck

That is some Amazing looking scenery! Wow! Sure is! To get a view like that around here you have to climb a water or cell phone tower. JB
