Thanks for the numbers Tim.
Short of putting gas in an empty tank I think this little fix may top the list in the "smallest effort with the biggest result" category. Stretch a spring and triple your oil pressure. Sounds like a good deal to me.

I’m about to be officially responsible for causing ‘Drift’ in Ryan’s Oil Pressure thread. This is a test for all HG participants… Take a look at the photo I posted showing the front of a GPW engine. I took this photo when I came across a problem. Can you spot the problem?

Ah yes, Moose. Wrong plate for a GPW, but the right plate if you want to mount a GPW engine in a CJ3A frame. This created an additional unforeseen problem. Do you see?
Rick...cooler is totally packed with cold Coors Light. Join me!

Looks like there's a nice "vent" hole above the cam shaft.....

Gary wins! Good eye my friend. There is no such thing as a chain drive front engine plate that works with a 3A frame. I welded this gap.

That I didn't know. Never have swapped a WW2 engine into a 3A. You might mention that a chain drive uses a different timing chain cover than a gear drive engine. The other solution is to use that bronze foot to adapt the mount. The leg forward and larger pocket in the plate was for the double acting fuel pump to clear. Another bugger is the F head pickup motor plate does not jog down on that side. I think the Captain had a thread on motor plates a while back. Oilly
