Imagine that...
Some years ago I bought top bows for my but buster off the 2A site. Don't remember the chaps name. Later I bought a 'kini top from Brother Jpet. At that time everything worked wonderful. Subsequently I had the bows blasted and powder coated and now the top won't fit over the bow. Would powder coating cause the bow parts to not slide together completely? If not would hanging the top on the ceiling joists upstairs in the shop cause the canvas to shrink an appreciable amount? It's not much out of whack, but it's definitely not going over that bow.
Raining blue blazes and this, and new seat covers, is the program for the day.
Thanks, Jimbo

If your top is canvas it shrinks when not in use, stretch it on the best you can, the next day it will be better, also your bows may not be going together all the way, my rear one is finicky, sand off some coating where they slip together.

Thanks Cap, What would be the most expeditious means of stretching the material? Should I soak it, or leave it dry?

Worked on one end of the top member yesterday with some 320 grit paper. Took awhile, but finally got the side member to seat with a little spray silicone and light influence with a wooden mallet. The coating is considerably thicker than I expected. Certainly wasn't the right choice for this application. Work on the other end today. Live and learn.

A 1/4" makes a huge difference. personally I cut the first 6" off all my tape measures, makes me feel intimidating. My tape measures are Chi-Com, so no brass!
